......this work published in 1910, just after the death of Mr. Jay, was written from his personal notes. The entire book can be viewed at this site. There are some documentable errors on Pages 11-12 pertaining to the earliest of Jay family history. Otherwise a very insightful and informative work with many family photos.

......a survey of his architectural accomplishments. William Jay was the premiere designer of early southern homes in Savannah GA and Charleston SC from 1816-1822. His Regency style of work is still considered unique to this day.
